At least three Katyusha rockets (probably 107 mm) were reportedly launched from Basra at the surrounding area of a US military base on the Iraqi-Kuwait border, two hitting areas inside Iraq while one rocket falling in Kuwait. No casualties were reported. Kuwait’s military spokesman confirmed that a projectile had landed on its side of the border with Iraq “it turned out that one Katyusha rocket fell near that (American base) area,”
Security forces found rocket launch pads allegedly used in the attack between the Safwan Bridge and the Imam Sadeq neighborhood, Safwa, Basra province,
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but some social media suggested pro-Iranian militias were behind the attack.
Similar rocket attacks are likely.
